Create Unlimited Free Ringtones for iPhone on Windows

iRinger is a free utility to create unlimited free ringtones for your iPhone. The sweet thing about this program is that it runs without installing on your system. So you can just double click and it’s ready to go. It’s pretty simple and exports right to iTunes. Most of free iPhone ringtone maker in the wild are malware, but this application is free from money and other bad things. Developer also explained why a hot app like iRinger is free “iRinger has an advertisement window placed in the program which generates revenue towards iRinger. If you donate a minimum of 10$ US, a Donation Key will be sent to you as a gift! This key will close the iRinger advertisement window as well as unlock hidden features.”
If you really are bothered by a small ad appearing that maximises when you hover over it then pay the $10 to get rid of it and get access to the other effect features! If you’re not bothered by it then it still works fine without the extra features!

How to use iRinger

  • Download iRinger from official website click here. Now launch the program and option screen will appear like following.

  • Hit the import button to select the song you want to convert in ringtone, now hit the preview button to listen the song. You can select the starting point by scaling the graph in upper window. Once you finalized the length simply hit the Export button.

  • In next screen you can select Export to iTunes button, export via SCP etc.

Now you can sync your iPhone with iTunes to install the custom ringtones. This application is tested withWindows 7, iPhone 3G OS 3.1.2 and iTunes 9.0.2 and work perfectly.

iPhone 4.0 Firmware Spotted in the Wild

The folks over at BGR have found out references to iPhone 3.1.3, and the iPhone 4.0 firmware version in their server logs and they seems to be legitimate. While iPhone 3.1.3 will only be a minor release, the 4.0 version certainly denotes a major release version and we can expect it to ship with the next-generation iPhone model sometime in summer 2010. Nothing much is known about about the features that the new firmware is going to offer, but we can expect it to add alot of new features, similar to what was experienced when firmware 3.0 was released.

While it is debatable on whether these logs posted by BGR are legitimate or not, one thing which we can be sure of is that Apple is working on something new. After all, the competition in 2010 is going to be tougher than ever before with the new Droid and the Google branded Nexus One phone, both slated for 2010 release.

iPhone 3.1.3 Firmware Release Imminent

While analyzing their website logs, BGR has found out something very interesting, related to the upcoming iPhone OS firmware release. Their server logs have clearly shown existence of both iPhone 3.1.3, and the major release – the iPhone 4.0 firmware. While we don’t know what new features the new firmware will offer, one thing is for sure that iPhone 3.1.3 firmware is only going to be a minor release for bug fixes and patches. iPhone 4.0 seems to be the major release version that is most probably going to hit something in summer of 2010 with the next-gen iPhone model.

Expect iPhone 3.1.3 firmware version to drop any time via iTunes. If you are using ajailbroken or an unlocked iPhone with firmware 3.1.2, then do not update to OS 3.1.3 immediately or you may loose the capability to jailbreak or unlock your device in the future. You have been warned!

Ryan Petrich showcased ProSwitcher for jailbroken iPhones, ProSwitcher enables palm pre like multitasking for jailbroken iPhones. ProSwitcher app that shows exactly how simple power features can drastically improve the iPhone user experience. The basic idea behind ProSwitcher is you can switch between apps while automatically back grounding the app you leave. ProSwitcher integrates with Backgrounder similar to how Kirikae does it. ProSwitcher is highly customizable with the options to select background, dim back ground, swipe to close etc. Another handy feature is the ability to quit apps from within ProSwitcher. Cydia Home Screen shows which SHSH you saved already

Yesterday Saurik updated the tool on the home page of Cydia, which retrieves and saves the ECID of our 3GS iPhone so we can downgrade at any time. Eagle Eyed folks at iSpazio noticed the change according to them, until a few hours ago, on the opening page of Cydia receive a message that only the first version of the firmware that had been saved ECID (first screenshot), but now are clearly displayed all versions of the firmware can install on your iPhone 3GS (second screenshot). If you aren’t aware of ECID, Cydia SHSH then read this article to understand what ECID is and why you need to dump your Signature files.

>>>>>>>>                     Before                    <<<<<<<<      >>>>>>>>                       Now                     <<<<<<<<
For those who are unaware with the SHSH thingy, this is due to the fact that Apple prohibits iPhone 3GS users to downgrade to previous versions. But if you have already saved you can install the firmware you like and forces them to keep only the latest version. With this detailed guide instead, all people who have saved the ‘ECID can downgrade by installing an older version of the software.
